Meet the newest members of the National Institute if Medical Herbalists council:

A Registered Nurse with Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees in Computer Science, Nick Hardiker, has nearly 30 years’ national and international experience of theoretical and applied research in the use of technology to support clinical practice and health and social care.

Oliver Rathbone MSc MNIMH studied at Durham University and has a career in publishing. A severe illness inspired him to retrain as a medical herbalist. He now juggles publishing at Aeon Books with a herbal practice in East Sussex. He has a special interest in the history, theory and practice of traditional western herbalism.

Nathalie Chidley began to study Herbal Medicine in 1991 as evening classes with Christopher Hedley. After a chance meeting in the Himalayas signposted her to the degree course as Middlesex University, she qualified in 2000. Nathalie has contributed to the BBC series ‘Grow Your own Drugs’.

Jo Webster is AFN registered associate nutritionist, medical herbalist, fermentologist and biophilist. She teaches nutrition and herbalism for the Betonica School of Herbal Medicine. Jo is also conducting research into oxymels as food and medicine.

James Wiltshire, Institute CEO, said of the new council appointments: “We are delighted to welcome Jo, Nathalie, Nick and Oliver to our Council. Their skills, experience and insights will be a huge asset to the Institute.”
