Join us as a Student

We offer anyone studying herbalism (subject to the conditions below)access to a huge range of support to help in your studies. The scheme can be accessed as soon as you enrol on a course, and aims to provide help and support to herbal medicine students in a variety of ways.

Students will be eligible if:

  • They are actively engaged on a course that requires the equivalent of at least a calendar year to fully complete.
  • The course is part of, or a component part of a structured study programme provided by a recognised educational organisation. Self-directed learning alone would not qualify for student membership.
  • The course results in an assessment, evaluation and a graded written qualification of some sort.
  • To qualify for student membership an individual should normally be studying clinical herbalism, medical herbalism or phytotherapy

Students taking extended study breaks from their course for more than a calendar year may be required to withdraw from student membership until they resume their studies.

At the Institute we believe students are amongst the most valuable members of the herbal community – the future of the profession is in their hands. This is why we choose to give students access to almost all the same benefits as our full members for just £30 per year. We want to offer as much support as possible to anyone who has chosen to study herbalism.
