Herbalism in Practice Award

Initiated following the COVID-19 pandemic, this award was created to recognise herbalists who have found innovative ways to connect plants, patients and practitioners.

The award is an open nomination – you can nominate yourself or others – and is open to any herbal practice or practitioner-led business anywhere in the world. The criteria for the award looks at:

  • What has been done to build the business that shows creativity and innovative spirit
  • How this has helped to develop the business
  • What impact this has had on patients and people’s connection with herbal medicine

Nominations could focus on changes to how a practice or business has marketed itself, it could explore partnerships with other businesses, it may look at changes to patient on-boarding or consultations, or perhaps demonstrate how technology has improved the business. We know that there are huge numbers of herbalists building their professional lives in so many different ways, and this award wants to share these stories and celebrate the successes.

We are delighted that this award is sponsored by Planta Medica, an innovative herbal medicines manufacturer who established themselves as the first co-operative manufacturer to improve the connection between practitioners and their products.

To submit a nomination, for yourself or someone else, please send a nomination statement of no more than 600 words to info@nimh.org.uk.

Closing date for nominations for the 2022 Award is 31 May 2023
