Making changes to our CPD requirements

Following a review of our CPD requirements, we wanted to share our proposed way forward with you, and to invite you to share your thoughts, either via the form below or by joining an open online discussion on Thursday 16 November at 2:00pm GMT

THE PROPOSED SCHEME

The current proposal is that members will be required to evidence completion of 21 hours per year.

  • Up to 7 of these hours could be achieved via self study,
  • but 14 hours per year must come from properly evidenced sources

We will offer a CPD tracker via the members page of our website to help keep track of these hours.

The CPD year will run January – December, regardless of when your membership renews.

From January 2024 you will be asked to submit last year’s CPD in the new format, which has 3 parts

  1. The actual list of activities

  2. An overall reflection on last year’s learning.

  3. An action plan for this next year (which will also help us plan our own CPD offering)

By recording the process in the way, and undertaking the reflective practise, you will be able to record two hours of your self study quota for the year.

From 2025 and each year from then on, you will be required to have recorded your CPD for the preceding year in this format, with a deadline in February to have the record complete. Extensions can be requested by members with exceptional circumstances.

A sample of submissions will be checked by the office team each year, with nominated herbalists to advise where necessary.
