HMC 2020

Just 16 days to go...

Our first online conference is almost upon us!

Thank you to those of you who have already bought tickets - you will be receiving an email shortly with access to the event platform.

If you haven't bought a ticket yet, you are missing out on almost 30 hours of amazing content.  All sessions are available to view at any point if you can't make a particular session, and all attendees will get full access to the recordings for 6 months after the event.

There are also fantastic opportunities to get together and start discussions, share articles and ideas, meet our exhibitors and win prizes and supplier discounts.

We have also tried to offer some of the same great social opportunities that you would expect from conference. Our platform allows you to send chat messages to your herbal colleagues and friends, start discussion topics, and arrange group video socials to catch up with others, possibly even enjoying a glass of something together online after the presentations are over for the day.

The full programme is available below, and we are excited to join together virtually next month.

We have an amazing collection of speakers featuring an exciting and diverse range of topics, linked by our theme of 'Facing the Future'.

These include:

  • Simon Mills - What we can do now: lessons from the elders. A look at how we can get herbal medicine back where it belongs
  • Andrew Chevallier - Three herbs for the cardiovascular system. What can Hawthorn, Olive Leaf and Butchers Broom tell us about herbal medicine
  • Benjamin Brown  - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, the evidence for integrative and nutritional medicine. Exploring management options from an evidence based perspective
  • Amina Eastham-Hillier, Ellie Holly and Mary Bove - Herbal perspectives on maintaining a healthy immune system. A panel discussion chaired by Phil Deakin
  • Dee Atkinson, Melinda McDougall, Mimi Hernandez and Paul Bergner  - A special relationship. Exploring what the future holds for herbalism in the UK and the US

We are also very proud that as part of the conference ticket we are able to include our special event - 'Herbalism and Society - Facing the Future together', a whole day event on Saturday 24th October featuring sessions exploring herbalism's role in the future of society, looking at social activism, the impacts of isolation, environmental and ecological considerations, and reflections on herbalism and colonialism. This will also be available to view for 6 months. Speakers here include:

  • Sue Evans
  • Marcos Patchett
  • Henriette Kress
  • Nikki Darrell
  • Elisabeth Brooke
