Claire Goulding (BSc Hons, MNIMH)
Claire is an experienced Western Medical Herbalist (BSc) and is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH).
I trade under my business name:
'Learn Botanics Herbal Medicine Clinic & Workshops'.
Claire sees a range of patients as part of her general practice. However, Claire’s background in education and bodywork has led to a special interest in young people as well as women’s health, where common issues arise such as hormonal imbalances, skin complaints, mental health, stress, digestion complaints and sleep issues.
With over 14 years of experience working in clinical settings, Claire uses a range of biomedical tools to assess her patients, calling on her orthodox medical training as well as traditional medicine disciplines, curating holistic treatment protocols to help bring the body back into balance. She has worked as a massage therapist since 2010 being trained in Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Holistic Massage. Sessions with Claire are warm, patient-centered and therapeutically held.
With a strong background in facilitation, forest school and mentoring, Claire delivers a range of empowering educational programmes as part of her practice; helping people develop their own therapeutic connection with nature, offering accessible ways to bring herbs into one’s daily life through diet and seasonal foraging tips.
What will a session look like?
After a free 15-minute-long chat to get to know the patient better, the first consultation will last 1 hour and will include an in-depth assessment into the patient’s medical history, current medication, as well as diet and sleep pattern.
Claire will then go away and research the case in more detail and devise a herbal prescription and create a bespoke treatment plan. The follow up consultation will last around 30 minutes, and stand as more of a check in to see how the patient is getting on and if any changes to the prescription need to be made. Depending on the individual, working with Claire may last anywhere between 1 to 12 months. Each one of Claire’s patients are treated as a unique case and are supported fully through their journey.
When not working, Claire can be found wild swimming, singing with a community choir, and spending time out in nature as much as possible!
