I'm a registered Medical Herbalist, based in Macclesfield, Cheshire and supporting patients locally and throughout the UK with offer online consultations.
My training: this included courses with the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, CNM and Heartwood. Modules were a mixture of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, plant chemistry and herb/drug interactions, as well as herbal therapeutics and over 500 hours of patient facing training. I was delighted to be awarded the Dorothy Carroll Award for Top Final Clinical Examination for 2022.
My journey: In 2017, after struggling with severe digestive issues I spent a week in hospital and after investigations including an MRI, CT scan and ultrasound I was discharged back to my GP for further tests. After losing two stone in weight and further tests proven inconclusive I was desperate for help and a friend recommend seeing a herbalist. This appointment changed my life and after taking a herbal tincture, tea and powder every day for a month I went back for my follow up appointment feeling much better, the pain had reduced considerably and I was able to eat solid food again. This started my journey of herbal medicine and fairly quickly I enrolled on a professional course.
I treat adults and children and have a special interest in patients struggling with anxiety, digestive issues, fatigue and perimenopause.
I regularly provide herb walks, workshops and talks for groups.
I'm also a registered Junior Herbalist Club leader - providing accredited classes in Cheshire for schools, home education groups and independent classes.
