I have been in practice in Bristol for 34 years. I trained to become a Medical Herbalist after studying botany and after successfully consulting a herbalist myself.
My specialist experience combines both botany and herbalism, and I work with patients to raise awareness of their own health and well-being. I specialise particularly in women’s health and have worked as a consultant for Wellwomen Information. I co-ordinated a research study on herbal treatment of menopausal problems in collaboration with the University of Central Lancashire. You can view a research paper about this at: http://fampra.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/24/5/468
I am a Senior Lecturer, teaching Herbal Medicine at the University of Westminster
Consultations
Treatment is carried out through in depth individual consultations. These sessions are confidential and are by appointment only. Your first consultation will last one and a quarter hours. As well as discussing your specific health problem, we will discuss other aspects of your health, diet and lifestyle. Follow up consultations are 45 minutes, and progress is reviewed after 4 sessions.
You will be prescribed an individual herbal prescription. For treatment to be effective it is important that you take this medicine as prescribed and are prepared to give sufficient time to see significant changes to your health. Although medical conditions may appear similar, everyone has different needs and problems so no two herbal treatments are the same.
Please bring details of any medication or supplements that you are currently taking to your first consultation.
