Peter Conway

Peter graduated from The College of Phytotherapy (UK) in 1995. In addition to his herbal practice Peter has been active in herbal education and politics. He was made a Fellow of both The National Institute of Medical Herbalists and The College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy - he was President of the latter organisation for 12 years. He is a former Director of the European Herbal and Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association and co-wrote the “National Professional Standards in Herbal Medicine” for the UK government. His post-graduate learning includes studying "Aromatic Medicine" (the medical use of essential oils) with Dr Daniel Penoel and “Integrated Healthcare” at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry (UK). Peter co-developed a veterinary herbal medicine course for Integrate CPD in the UK, which he taught on for 7 years. He wrote “The Consultation in Phytotherapy” textbook for Elsevier, which was published in 2011. Peter emigrated to the west coast of Canada in 2015, he currently lives in Victoria on Vancouver Island, and teaches at Pacific Rim College. He is a Member of the Canadian Herbalists Association of British Columbia. Peter is currently working on an online project that will address the theme of “deep herbalism". Peter's special interest in practice is working with people experiencing complex and chronic healthcare challenges.
