Currently taking a break from consultations to focus on clinical skills empowerment, mentorship and educational projects.
After graduating in physiology and medicine, Phil practised family medicine as a GP in Sheffield for thirty-four years. A growing interest in plant-based holistic care resulted in an honours degree in Herbal Medicine at Lincoln College. Expecting to emerge as a doctor with additional skills in herbal medicine, he is now proud to realise that he is actually a herbalist with previous experience of general practice.
With this unique background he is keen to promote herbal medicine and develop local and national collaborations with other healthcare professionals.
Present activities include guest presenter and external examiner roles with Betonica School of Herbal Medicine and working in Sheffield Medical School alongside other complementary practitioners on behalf of the Cavendish Trust to promote understanding of complementary and integrative practice to medical students.
