Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a stress-induced psychiatric disorder that can occur after exposure to traumatic events. With a prevalence of around 12% in clients, PTSD is as common as depression, yet often overlooked.

With the likelihood of PTSD increasing due both natural and man-made disasters, consideration of integrative and nutritional medicine as a management approach for PTSD is increasingly important.

Evidence on management options can inform personalized treatment plans; including clinical studies on whole-person integrative treatments and personalised nutritional medicine including vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, n-acetylcysteine and cannabidiol (CBD). This talk explores management options from an evidence-based perspective.
